Nuke – Week 06

Since the running guy has a very large movement which makes it hard to roto the body, I have to roto each part of the body separately. So I broke the roto shapes into four parts, one spline for the head, another spline for the upper body, and two more splines for the arms and forearms.

I started with tracking the head to make it easier to roto, and then I linked the tracking information under the Roto Nodes to allow the roto shapes following with the tracking.

Nuke – Week 08

We learned how to replace the phone screen with 2D tracking and rotoing out the fingers.

Before and After

NUKE SCRIPT

Firstly, I tracked the four corners of the phone from the original plate, and then created the cornerpin2D to make the replacement image moves with the phone movement.

And then I used the Grid Warp node to align the image to adjust the perspective and to make sure the green background is covered. Lastly, I rotoed out the fingers. I used the KillSpill node to despill the green edges around the fingers, and I blurred the edges of the fingers by EdgeBlur node.

Nuke – Week 05

I did some color correction in Nuke for this video I shot on snow mountain. I tried to make it look like an old camera filter. Unfortunately, I was unable to upload videos or GIFs up here, so I just got some screenshots from the work.

Progress Breakdown

First of all, I exported the MOV to EXR files and imported them. Then, I used Keyer node to extract the highlights from alpha as a mask to the ColorCorrection node, so I could add warm tone to the highlights. I also used the same way to add some green to the shadows to make strong contrast of warm and cold.

I enhanced the contrast overall, and created a vignette around the corners. I used the Ellipse Tool in Roto node and created a Grade node to mask from the roto shape, therefore, I could only apply changes to the area I masked out. Lastly, I added some grain to the video to make it look vintage.
